Henry travels to a distant island. Having read up on the island’s culture, he knows that there are two tribes on the island: a tribe of pygmies and a tribe of giants. The people of one tribe always tell the truth, and the people of the other tribe always lie, but he doesn’t know which is which.
Soon after arrival, Henry happens to meet two natives, a tall one and a short one, unmistakably members of the respective tribes. With little thought he asks the tall man, “Are you a truth-teller?” The man replies “Blum”. The smaller one then explains, “He say ‘yes’, but him big liar.”
So, who is the truth-teller and who is the liar?
